Hard Extraction Level 1 (Use of Cover)

EXTRACTION – The process of removing yourself and/or 3rd parties from a targeted site, whilst using cover correctly.

USE OF COVER – How to use cover, in order to make it more difficult for the people trying to kill you, to actually kill you, whilst allowing you to return fire from a tactically superior position.

The aim of the course, is to teach you how to use cover PROPERLY, with an emphasis on target acquisition, weapon manipulation, movement and communication.

course description

The Level 1 course is the foundation of the entire “Hard Extraction” concept, which is to take you through realistic procedures required to extract yourself, from an active shooter/mass shooter event.

We will dispel the myths and reinforce the realities of what cover, (buildings, walls, vehicles), do and do NOT provide you with. Cover is NOT there for you to rest your weapon on or to lean on for support. The dual purpose of cover is to provide you with:

> Cover from fire
> Cover from view

This one day course concentrates on:

> TACTICAL use of cover (buildings, walls & vehicles)
> Acquiring the threat (engaging lateral and medial threats from cover)
> Fire & movement (the extraction phase)
> Weapon manipulation (shoulder transitions, weapon transitions, multi-tasking, managing malfunctions ON THE MOVE)
> Communication (quality over quantity – less is more concept)

You will be put through force-on-force exercises (using sim-munition) before going Live, on The Street.

You will progress from 1-man team to 2-man team, Extraction exercises.

By the end of the days’ training, you will DEFINITELY have a healthier respect for the PROPER use of cover – we guarantee it.
